The late 90s saw companies start using the internet to sell their products, a development aided by web content management systems (WCM). WCM software has been programmed to the stage where it can work with existing systems to guarantee effectiveness in the workplace. To efficiently use a WCM you should ensure that it can fulfill the following roles. Firstly it is essential to be aware that there is a difference between our WCM software and the others available. Initially the raw data is transferred to the Alfresco CMS which then starts organizing it, corresponding to the predetermined specifications. Then, it calibrates, stores, and provides the information for on-site and remote personnel.

The WCM work flow has to be consistent and universal. Aside from the power to create and feed-in information, ideally you should also have the ability to edit and reprocess it depending on your needs. Picture the process as being like the input area in blog software or even the comments area on the public side of a blog.

Should you find that info has not been processed, then the WCM is unsuitable. Examples include customized text, spacing and configurations and layouts. Nevertheless, having the hosted WCM exclusively serve up the information as it then stands is not good enough on its own.

Rather, these systems should assimilate the data and transform it into a language that can be understood by internet browsers. This typically involves assimilating CSS, PHP, XML code and others. It is an obvious point to make but never forget protection for your system. It can include maintaining the security of the relevant data and making it available only to persons within the company, as well as approved third party viewers.

The Alfresco CMS system is a market leader in the means of which info is brought together, processed and disseminated to service the end package. So to wrap this up: if the intention is to increase the efficiency of the way in which your corporation manages its time, we heartily endorse the Alfresco CMS- for protection, integration and error free collation. You really couldn’t do much better with one of these working for you.

A low standard digital brochure software package can be the downfall of even the most inventive electronic magazine. The most important call to take when you're making an online catalog is picking out your software provider. Formatting the content is just a minute section of what they do...

To produce online publications is a great deal of effort, therefore it’d be a shame to destroy all that with the wrong digital catalog software. As a matter of fact, picking a software supplier is one of the most important considerations you’ll take when you produce digital publication. And don’t forget that they don’t only help you put the content into a pleasant format. Being simple to use is an essential part of the package to look out for. The software could be the most impressive you’ve seen – but without being able to actually use it, it’s not worth a damn… The e-brochure you’re producing should matter enough to you for you to test out several providers.

Further major decisions you need to make are safeguarding security. Next on your list to think about are spammers and hackers. Is there security in situ to secure the package? What about the content? Is it possible for people to simply copy-paste the brochure content or does the online publishing software supplier have protective measures preventing this? Is the content made safe by the e-publishing software supplier from copy-pasting by readers? When you’ve produced an electronic brochure it’s time to outline a marketing timetable. Social-media, ads, these are things which should be covered never mind what marketing strategy you’re using. Contemporary techniques mean thinking about search engine requirements as you edit content.

Is your content solely going to be offered for free? What about the possibility of offering single copy and multiple subscription options? Will the content be commercialized in any way? Will you be using teasers and summaries to sell this ebrochure? What’s the accessibility of the brochure? If it’ll be private you can look into all your hosting options or will it be public? If public you will be better hosting directly. What will you be doing about back-issues?

Some workarounds need to be considered in advance before being hit by an emergency. What is the tech support like? What quality are their FAQs? Do they have a how-to guide? Do they commit to any response time? How well manned is their tech-support line or email address? Tech-support might be your last consideration but it should be a decisive factor in your choice of provider. Chances are you don’t want to discover the hard way that they’re not up to par…

The last decision in hosting service could make or break this carefully crafted magazine. Google the term “Zmags” for further useful pointers.

If you do not have a properly-built website sending customers to your beauty salon or spa, you are literally passing up on the single biggest resource of new clients in the world today, costing you thousands every year! Don’t throw income away on a inadequately designed, ineffective website, rather make your website an integral part of your business.

The 6 most frequent and costly mistakes that salon owners make with their web sites.
Pricey blunder # 1: Not owning a website!

A website is definitely an extraordinarily profitable device in your salon business — you absolutely need to possess one and it needs to be properly created and taken care of, promoted correctly and very lucrative. It’s fantastic to open the salon in the morning and have online reservations to start the day — actually you may make money via your website when you sleep!

Expensive mistake No 2: Failing to efficiently market your website
When your site is up and operating, you’ll still have got to promote it to generate traffic. The method of marketing and refining your website to maximise the reaction rate is on-going — you will constantly test. Consult your website developer to give you a really lucrative marketing plan.

Costly mistake No 3: Choosing the wrong Website Developer

The great majority of hair salon website design developers are not marketing specialists. Except if your website developer really understands direct response marketing and how clients make purchasing decisions, don’t count on them to create your message or develop your site. Errors can prove very expensive. However.if you can produce a website that sells your salon, then the expense is worthwhile.

Costly error No 4: The incorrect content material.

Obtain the maximum number of suitable customers to identify themselves once they go to your web site. This can be accomplished by just providing free information and/or a excellent offer. Compare and contrast this with the ’salon library’ form of sites. In an effort to supply a site ‘rich in content’, the actual complete text of the brochure can be found on the website. Why would a potential customer make contact with the salon when they could simply read the brochure, leave the site and move on?

Expensive error No five: Image Style Websites

Image style sites don’t make the telephone ring. People don’t want to be sold, however they do need to be helped. Prosperous marketers realize that they must concentrate on a prospect’s needs — this is called ‘direct response’. By its very name is self-explanatory. It is created to get an immediate response, action, visit, call or purchasing decision from the reader. It guides people to action, it compels them to contact you. You must give them a reason to contact you, with a direct response website, people will leave their contact information.

Expensive error No 6: Failing to continuously test and measure.

The majority of web sites are by no means tested. The real benefit of a direct response website is that it permits you to test if modifications have increased the usefulness of your website or not — given that you have constructed in the statistical resources required to track any modifications. As soon as you have a prospect’s name and contact info, you are able to follow-up with them to deal with their certain requirements. When you do not get their name before they leave your website, odds are they’re rarely likely to get in touch with your salon. Any increase in this response rate will go right to your bottom line!

If you’re not on the internet, you are undoubtedly behind’

Picking out the most appropriate domain name and getting the right registration are the initial items to think over when you are launching a Web site. Nonetheless, this is not a smooth process. The very best way to make sure that your requirements are met is to spend time on some thorough research of domain hosting providers by taking a look at available reviews...

Choosing the best domain and finding the right registration are the first matters to think over when you are planning a Web site. But it is almost impossible to speed up this kind of decision without some prior help. Long story short: the most dependable method of making sure that your requirements are met is to spend a few hours on some painstaking research of domain hosting suppliers by taking a look at reviews Web site. When you read domain hosting reviews, how to establish what exactly is helpful information and what is not? Before you make any decisions you must determine which features are crucial to your market. Employing the same company for Web site hosting and registration of your domain is a popular option. Service is another important consideration that could affect you even long after your domain is registered. It is a good idea not to rely on a review published on the hosting provider’s Web site. To define the best suited web registration for you, you need to get an unbiased evaluation. You need to look at as many reviews as you can and study carefully the customers’ remarks. Do you read some of the issues repeated more frequently than you would expect? Can you see the company’s strengths from the review? Do positive reviews outbalance the negative reviews?

Of course, you should expect to come across both bad and good reviews. It’s generally best to get ahold of all the reviews with objectivity and weigh them all. Without a shadow of a doubt, pricing is an important consideration, but don’t overlook which services are offered for the price. To help you make a selection we have ramped up some bullet points you should think about. During what times of day do the company offer customer support? Is there a toll free telephone number to call, and do the reviews reflect a quick response time? How much bandwidth and domain hosting does the company provide? Some companies extend unlimited domain hosting and bandwidth as standard, on occasion they offer extras for example software packages to help in running your Web site, coupons redeemable for Google AdWords, even discounts on further domain names.

What payment options are offered? Are payments automatic, and are annual payments accepted? What kind of technical support is offered in the case of a server breakdown?

In the end this is completely your choice, but before you decide, do use caution, do cover all that required research. Taking a look at applicable domain hosting reviews offers you the chance to save lots of time and money later on.

Now is a good time as any to analyze your current budget and business needs to determine the right email solution. Whether it is a high-end messaging service such as Microsoft Exchange on a managed hosting server or a value-packed web-based service, you need to make informed decisions.
The merits of outsourcing
Email may be considered essential to a lot of companies but it is still important to take note that an organization’s email servers are part of its infrastructure. They are not usually related to services or products that companies deliver to customers.
A company has to focus as many resources as it can on its core competencies in order to ensure success. In any business, a part of the human and financial resources is invested on creating and maintining its underlying infrastructure (i.e. electricity, telephone, etc). In many cases even, the infrastructure is crucial to business operations although it doesn’t affect revenue.
A company that can minimize the cost of business operations and focus a lot of its resources on core competencies will become more profitable. Because of this, it is but logical to assess infrastructure-related expenses to find out if they can be cut down through outsourcing.
An outsourcing company typically offers better service than what can be gained in-house. It can even be obtained at a lower cost and with lesser complexity. Not only does it reduce the costs, however, but it also frees staff.
Outsourcing mailboxes to an email hosting provider will help you avoid initial start up expenses of deploying email servers and reduce management and maintenance cost. One other reason why the cloud is a good idea for email hosting is because hosting companies are ideally equipped for disaster recovery. Most organizations may back up their in-house servers but a few of them usually have limited resources to test these backups.

Choosing a suitable domain name and nailing down the most appropriate Web registration are the initial matters to think over when you are launching a web site. This is not normally a painless process. All things considered the easiest method of making sure that your needs are met is to conduct some thorough preparatory research...

The initial step in planning a web site and a robust Internet presence is deciding on a relevant domain name and picking the most appropriate Web registration for your particular niche. Mind you, this is not an uncomplicated process. The easiest way to make sure that your requirements are fulfilled is to conduct some pain-staking research of domain hosting providers by reading available customer feedback. Reviews of domain hosting are helpful, but how can you determine what precisely is useful and what is not? As with all good business decisions, you have to make up your mind what points are significant to your market. Some businesses have their web site hosted by the same provider that they have utilize for their domain name registration. Bear in mind, though, that years after your web site has been set up, issues such as service will probably become way more significant than ever.

We do recommend you check out our trusted source for hosting reviews domain.com register.com hints…

Never rely on reviews exclusively published in a provider’s advertising. It is always necessary to get an impartial assessment before you make a decision. You need to look at as many reviews as possible bearing in mind what all the clients have to offer. Just what are the common complaints, if any? What do current clients believe the company’s strengths are? Is the overall feedback positive or negative?

Expect to see good and bad feedback for every company. It is wise to read all the reviews with objectivity and weigh them all. Naturally, the cost should be determining factor, but think about what services are offered for the cost. To help you when making a choice we’ve ramped up a few bullets you should think through.

Does the company feature round the clock technical support with a toll-free telephone line, and do any of the comments reflect a rapid response time? Just how much bandwidth will be accessible to you? Some providers provide unlimited domain hosting and bandwidth as standard, on occasion they offer other perks such as software to help in running your web site, coupons redeemable for Google AdWords, even rebates on further domain names. How is the payment scheme designed? Could it be put in place automatically, and are rebates provided for full payment? What will happen assuming the server goes offline? Your answers to these questions are vital to your web site.

In the long run it is completely your decsion, all the same do exercise caution, don’t be sloppy regarding the bottom-line groundwork, so be certain to cross your t’s and dot the i’s. Studying multiple domain hosting reviews can be a tremendous approach that is certain to help you save time and money.

We can acknowledge, we are highly smitten by the Zippy.com.au internet site and could not wait to see what we would find in their insurance quoting segment. Our favored highlights on this site was their simmpleness. It is not very tough to find 7 quotes rates here, as this internet site permits you to fill out an form and permits you to compare a mixture of prices from sevenfold providers.
Our reviews team appreciated the easy to sail site that didn’t require ages to load, a big benefit.

Zippy.com.au are opperated by:
Zippy.com.au Pty Ltd Australia Business Number: 281 3833 9429 www.zippy.com.au Tel: 617 3103 0183
fax: 07 30366860 Suite 163, 192 Ann Street Brisbane QLD post code: 4000 Australia

Zippy minted the motto, Fast, Easy, Zippy’ and they mean it! After finishing a quote form, our phone within 5 minutes and found oursleves speaking with Budget Insurance and they bettered our current car insurance premium.
We really liked that Zippy.com.au holds elements effortless whilst preserving a professional and educational insurance website.
As well as Car you may use Zippy.com.au to find House, Term life and Business Insurance but in our opinion Car insurance seems to be Zippy’s focus.
Although covering all of Australia the site focuses on QLD, Sydney, Victoria, Adelaide and Perth
The front page of the website is specific but is prepared well. It consists of a main image and par and underneath are two sections.
You will as well discover a group of calculators to the right of this main division The features include a couple of estimators, the greatest of these gauges a car’s price.
Colouration for the website are blue, rich green on a classic white backdrop uniform with the Zippy logo.
Zippy.com.aus logo is fashionable, elementary and smart I thought the colouration described the character of company well and looked pro. The layout of the pages is simply organised and pages are uniform with the two newspaper column design with the main details up on the top.

The Zippy.com.au website adequately meets customer needs and provides a wide selection of insurance companies to select from in Australia. With the same technology, it is in all probability that the company can stretch their services to include different countries as well.
Zippy is well worth bookmarking.

Bandwidth plays but one part in the issue of IT performance, and in particular “speed” as perceived by the users. It is important to understand that transmission control protocol, the TCP in TCP/IP, plays a much bigger role.

The job of TCP is to provide reliable data delivery. It was developed back when circuits were predominately analog and errors were common. Of course, the data flow was significantly different as well and consisted mostly of small strings of text. TCP regulates the flow of data between end points using an aggressive correction algorithm that is very sensitive to errors and latency.

The impact of TCP on speed begins with just a 10 msec latency. An OC-3 bandwidth pipe (155 Mbps) has a theoretical throughput of about 19 MBps, assuming maximum packet sizes and minimal IP and routing overheads. That OC-3 pipe with 10 msec round trip delay will have a maximum throughput of about 6 MBps. Add an error rate of 1%, and that drops to 2 MBps. That 1% is between nodes, so it includes any errors from premise wiring as well as any errors across the WAN. If the latency is 100 msec, the maximum throughput on that OC-3 pipe is about 500 KBps. This is all TCP related and excludes any processing time on either node. A DS-3 bandwidth pipe (45 Mbps) can almost achieve that same rate of performance.

Now that is all assuming only two devices communicating for the duration of the data transfer. As the device count increases, the impact of congestion increases. Still, circuit congestion is rarely the problem with business IT performance.

Regardless, most applications never come close to achieving maximum performance. In most cases with 780 Kbps connectivity or higher, the communications delay represents less than 10 percent of the total time for any IT task. The remainder of the time is with processing at either end. Likewise, few applications optimize their data content to take the best advantage of the available bandwidth. The payload in most packets is full of application overhead from poorly optimized processing.

Before leasing more circuit capacity, know what you are using (percentage of capacity), how you are using it (usage by application), and what speed issue you are fighting (task analysis). With this information, you can determine if you need more bandwidth, less latency, application optimization, or maybe a jump off of TCP for some specific requirements.

After emerging wounded and bleeding from a recent IRS Field Audit, I picked up some clues as to how budding Internet Entrepreneurs can survive the ordeal with some semblance of financial health.

1. Make your paper trails complete.

You may think that a simple receipt will suffice. Hah! Be prepared to show not only a receipt but a logical trail showing what you purchased, what it does, how it was absolutely necessary in your business, and where the purchase shows up on your bank statements or credit card itemizations. Then provide an explanation of why it didn’t generate the income you thought it would (the reason you bought it in the first place). In addition to the self-reproach and frustration you encountered when the system you bought didn’t perform as promised, you now have to endure the humiliation of a Revenue Agent shaking their head over your gullibility in ever believing the sales hype Why DID I buy that thing anyway?)

2. Perfect your memory.

If you put $100 cash in your bank account, document exactly where it came from and why, because 3 years from now you will be asked for details as to why this unimportant sum should not be considered unreported income. A few garage sales a year and you have business income my friend, and that means self-employment taxes. Apply this advice to every deposit made outside your regular paycheck or retirement income. If you can’t remember what on earth it was, come up with a reasonable explanation and stick with it, through the doubtful head shakings and accusatory stares. Saying “I don’t remember” opens up a whole new can of worms.

3. Annotate your check register receipts.

Bought some books to build your business, for classes, for help with income tax? Having the clerk write out what you bought as simply “books” is too generic for an eagle-eyed Revenue Agent. And a ClickBank or PayPal receipt is meaningless unless you can document what was bought and why it was a business necessity. When you stock up on paper and printer ink at the local office supply store, make sure you pick a register that’s been recently filled so you don’t end up with an unreadable tape (and ink fades over 3 years) that will not pass muster, no matter how detailed your explanation. And just why do you buy so much ink? IRS agents don’t have home businesses and have no concept of how fast an inkjet printer gobbles up its supplies when you print out an e-book or two or five.

4. Web finances.

We have all experienced the nightmare of the first year on the Internet – the truckloads of money we cough up to buy e-books, software, and gadgets, plus put up websites that are going to make us a fortune. Did you make a huge profit your first year? Like most of us, you probably spent a lot more than you earned! Think that you can deduct those expenses? Forget it. These are start-up costs and even if some of them pass the scrutiny they receive (What exactly is an Auto-Responder? SEO costs money?), they’ll have to be amortized over 5 years. Who knows if we’ll even be on the net 5 years from now? Who knows if the people and sites we bought from will still exist in 3 years when “more detailed documentation” is demanded?

5. Giving is a two way street.

Next time you slip a $5.00 bill to the homeless guy at the end of the off ramp, make new friends by holding up traffic for 15 minutes while you have him complete a dated receipt including what he is planning on doing with the money. Don’t just put $20 into the Church offering plate, write a check and make sure you get a copy of it after cancellation. Never use those untended drop-off Goodwill boxes — a list of your donations is meaningless without a signed and dated receipt. And just how much do you think those used clothes and household furnishings are worth anyway? A lot less than they will eventually sell for, that’s for sure. Don’t just sponsor your grandkids in their walkathons or hand over cash for cookies – get an explanation of when you gave, how much, and what the money is being used for. Remember that it’s your word against theirs in a situation where your word is absolutely worthless.

6. Make Map Quest your friend.

If you do a lot of driving for business, charity, self-employment, or to a second job, be prepared to justify every mile through independent verification. Your odometer may differ from an internet estimate but you can’t be trusted so use an outside source, however inaccurate. To be in really good shape, take screen shots of online research (there go the printing costs again) to prove the figures you claim.

Let’s face it. The IRS flips a two-headed coin and we always choose tails. The bottom line is simple: if you show income and pay taxes on it, they will never, ever, question it. If you overpaid because some of that income was excludable, they’ll ignore it. But find yourself in the unhappy position of losing money over the year, as 90% of all would-be home entrepreneurs do, then your life becomes an open book before the eyes of an eager auditor with redlining foremost in mind, trained to ferret out every weakness in your armor.

We can all only hope to eventually make “guru” status and move to the Caribbean to hang on to our new Internet fortune!

Effective webmasters and online marketers are constantly searching for ways to improve their search engine rankings.

The simple fact is that most websites get the majority of their traffic from search engines. So it is important to give the search engines what they are looking for. If you do, your site will do well in searches and the search engines will drive traffic to your site.

There have been many changes over the last two or three years to the way search engines evaluate the importance of websites. Many of these changes have been spurred on by Google. But other engines such as Yahoo and MSN have followed suit.

There is a general consensus among search engine optimization experts on many of the techniques and practices that enhance your website in the eyes of the search engines. Here are some of them.

1. Give your site a clearly focused theme – Your site should have a clearly focused theme which can be defined in terms of search phrases (or “keywords”). If your site has no clear theme, the search engines will not be of much help to you. Ask yourself if there is a small set of search phrases that people can use to find your site. If not, then go back to the drawing board and redefine your site.

2. Evaluate your keywords – Now let’s assume you have decided on a theme, and you have defined it in terms of five or six primary search phrases (keywords.) It is time to analyze these search phrases and determine if anybody actually searches for them. There is no point in having a focused theme that no one is looking for.

There are excellent free tools and services available to help you do this analysis. One of the easiest to use is at h ttp://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion – the Keyword Selector Tool built into Yahoo Search Marketing (formerly Overture.) Just enter a keyword and the tool will tell you how many searches have been done for that term in a recent period. It will also give you searches for related terms.

3. Start creating pages – Once you decide on your most important search terms (keywords) you are ready to start building pages. Give each search term its own page, and remember to focus, focus, focus. Be sure to put the keyword for each page in the page title (what shows up in the title bar), in the description metatag, and in the major headline. Then repeat it several times throughout the page, with an emphasis on repetition near the top of the page.

4. Include outbound links to “authoritative” sites in the subject area you are emphasizing. For instance, if your page is about “Golf Travel” a link to a couple large established golf or golf travel sites will help establish the subject matter of your own page.

5. Create content that is unique and that focuses on your subject matter. To carry on with the previous example, if your site is about Golf Travel, you will want to focus on several different areas — for example Scotland Golf Travel, Ireland Golf Travel, Florida Golf Travel, and so on — and make the content on each of these pages relevant to the theme of the page. Yes, this seems obvious, but so many websites do not have this kind of obvious focus.

6. Keep your content current and update it regularly. Search engine experts refer to this as “fresh” content. One way to keep adding fresh content is to place an RSS feed from a relevant reputable source on each page. Feeds are often from news sources or blogs, and are often updated on a daily basis. Generally speaking, the more often your content is updated, the more often it will get spidered, and the better it will rank in searches.

7. Get inbound links – Now it is time to get inbound links pointing to your site. This is perhaps the most difficult part of the project, and the one that takes the most time.

The search engines consider inbound links an indicator of the importance and relevance of your site. “Relevant” links are the most valuable. These are the ones that come from other sites (or pages) that are closely related to yours.
