Keane Fought Off Tough competition From Plan B
Keane have scored their 4th successive hit album this week with Night Train coming straight in at number one.
The 4th album from the band knocked X Factor star Diana Vickers from the apex of the album chart and fought off strong competition from Plan B She Said, who stayed a non mover at 2 with The Defamation of Strickland Banks. Woman Gaga scored a chart double with new album entry The Remix at 3, and first album The Celebrity up 1 to 4.
Brooklyn indie rockers the nation’s finished the top 5 with their 5th studio album High Violet, a new entry at number 5. New album releases slipped in spades into the top forty album chart this week. Foals entered at 8 with their 2nd album Total Life for keeps Celine Dion came in at eleven with Taking Probabilities World Tour : The Concert and Cut entered with his self titled album at seventeen.
Alicia Keys entered the album chart at twenty with The Platinum Collection, Toni Braxton entered at twenty-eight with Heartbeat and eventually Jack White’s The Dead Wheather came in at 32 with new album ocean of Chickens . Roll Deep held on to the no 1 spot in Britain singles chart this week, marking their 3rd uninterrupted week at number one with happy times. Jason Derulo jumped up ten places to chart at number 2 with his single Ridin’ Solo, Usher moved down one place to 3 with OMG ( ft will.i.am ), while Edward Maya scored a new entry at number 4 with Stereo Love ( ft. Vika Jigulina ).
Aggro Santos was a non-mover at 5 with Candy ( ft Kimberly Wyatt ).
New single entries came from Happiness Cast at 9 with Total Eclipse of The Heart, Christina Aguilera entered at twelve with Not Myself Tonight and Fugative came in with his single Crush at twenty-six. Further new single entries came from Happiness Cast once again at 27 with Run Joey Run, and eventually, with their 4th album at number one, Keane entered the United Kingdom single chart at forty with Stop For A Minute ft K’naan.
