Stocking It Smarter

The Prime Minister and the Chancellor Ignore Small and Medium Sized Employers Time after Time

A vast number of people including myself were upset with the Pre Budget speech .

I had wished that Mr Darling would have grasped the nettle and addressed the key issues such as the current severe state of the public finances, Public sector Pay increases, Helping small businesses, encouraging saving and investments and encouraging the banks to be practical about lending to businesses.

Like most people I agree that we need to have a combination of tax plus cuts in spending cuts.

The old line from government ministers is that urgent would hurt the UK and the recovery. My opinion is that although sweeping instant cuts could cause a stall in the economy, the length of time proposed is just a little too late.

It seems that the Chancellor is just playing around the edges of reform and does not want to sway the boat too much prior to an election.

The effect of accelerative public borrowing can be seen when you look at the Eire Economic System. The once Celtic tiger has had its claws taken out. Present-day cuts in pay are a realism along with bruising proposals to trim back public borrowing.

I almost gagged on my tea last night, whilst watching the six o clock news. Public sector employees were protesting about a cap on salary increases of 1%.

I would preferably be in that position, as opposed to working for the Public sector in Ireland.

Many small small and medium sized directors have actually taken pay cuts in the last year, due to the economic slowdown.

As Independent Financial Advisers we offer a Small Business Advice service to our customers on a day-by-day basis. I would have preferred to see a more radical approach to sustaining SME businesses as they are an essential part of the economy.
